Festivus for the Rest of Us
In shocking news today, I found out that I'm in a new book coming out. Granted I'm not the feature story or even really mentioned in it but my picture sure is in there. The book is Festivus: The Holiday for the Rest of Us by Allen Salkin. For those that don't know, Festivus is a made-up holiday featured on an episode of Seinfeld as an alternative to Christmas. What does this have to do with me you ask? Well every year my friend Julianne throws her own Festivus party complete with Festivus pole, the airing of grievances, and feats of strength. I've attended every year, losing miserably in the thumb-wrestling championship. Somehow the author of the book found out about her party and asked her to send pictures and information about the party. Supposedly 4 pages are dedicated just to Julianne's party and I'm in one of the pictures, doing what - I don't know. Strange coincidence, the first year I attended I wore pajamas as I was on my way to a pajama party afterwards. I'm just hoping that that's not one of the pictures included. Actually, maybe that wouldn't be too bad. I like the idea of everyone thinking that The Wearing of Pajamas is one of the Festivus Traditions. Funny stuff folks.
