• Developed a little bit of a collecting habit. I'm not quite the anime fan that I used to be, but I have always had a soft spot for transforming toys, especially ones with such a perfect transformation sequence.
• Went to the huge nerd-fest, Archon in Collinsville. The after-party was incredible. It was almost a Fear-and-Loathing-in-Collinsville-type experience. It was essentially one of the most exuberant Halloween-style parties I'd ever been to, with a strong geeky pride to the whole thing. It was all about getting drunk with fellow nerds, sci-fi fantasy nuts, rivetheads, and other people who get it.
• Catching up on my post-rock. Been listening to a lot of Mono and Explosions in the Sky. As I mentioned to Adam, he introduced me to Mogwai years ago, but it wasn't until this past year that I realized just how awesome they were.
• Catching up on my funk. Been listening to Maceo Parker and Johnny "Hammond" Smith
• Tried out Windows Vista RC2, just because. Honestly, the whole experience just kinda anti-climactic. It feels like a re-worked and semi-clunky interface due to a decent amount of re-arrangement.
